Hundreds of people watch in enjoyment as the colourful exhibition full´s up the sky, is the time to relax before the nightlife, the open-air dances and in the city’s bars. This is the moment chosen by groups of friends to meet up after resting and to start their night out in San Fermin.

Every night the best firework experts put there total effort into offering the most sophisticated pyrotechnic effects yet created, forming figures such as garlands, palms, bouquets with shells of bright, bold colours, in compositions at all heights. The display last half an hour, with a magnificent grand finale. The marvelous show created by the firework experts, is not-to-be-missed event.

Firework events in San Fermin began in 1595, when the fiesta program was much more humble than the present-day one, fireworks were included as one of the main attractions. From that year onwards, except on rare occasions, firework displays have been put on year after year. Now a day´s in the 21st century, the displays include many innovations such as digital technology to direct the shells. This event was declared to be an international contest since 2000, with a jury and prizes. As a result, the best pyrotechnic teams all over the world come to Pamplona to take part in the contest, creating some stunning displays and improving the quality of the exhibition much further.
