ART AND WINE IN NAVARRA
AT FIRST SIGHT
This adventure continues into the Navarra wine region with visits to several stunning medieval locations throughout the area. Neighbouring the well-known Rioja vineyards, Navarra boasts a wide variety of quality wines, many imported throughout the world.
We’re off to medieval Olite with its spell-binding fairy tale castle built by Carlos III in the fifteenth century.
ENCHANTING COBBLESTONE STREETS
The streets of Olite are lined with old stone houses, bedecked with family crests, narrow winding cobblestone streets and medieval churches.
ON A SWEET NOTE
On our visit to Olite, we sample a luscious dessert wine at the private Unsi wine bar.
PURELY EXPERIENTIAL TRAVEL
Full of diverse and very local experiences connected to the life and writing of Ernest Hemingway.
We visit the prestigious winery, an avant-garde winery that offers high quality wines endorsed by awards and recognition from critics around the world. Lunch awaits us in the majestic Parador de Olite, in the medieval dining room, to delight in regional Navarran cuisine. After lunch we visit the spectacular courtyards and royal chambers of the castle. We are not yet finished: we wander over to the Saint James Way and visit the Santa Maria de Eunate, the most beautiful church along the Camino, dating from the twelfth century. Then we go to Puente la Reina, where we see the impressive twelfth century Romanesque bridge extending over the Arga River.
